What is a CMS site?

Pertaining to websites, A Content Management System (CMS) is a dynamic software and a database system that runs on the web server itself. Content for pages, menus, and sidebars are manage via a web interface and uploaded into a database. When a website visitor views the site, the software on the web server pulls the basic page content that is being requested from the database and merges it with a design template. This system is a much more efficient method than that of static sites. A dynamic CMS site allows the webmaster, users, business owner, employees, community member, or anyone who is given access to be able to update, add, and remove content quickly. While there are many CMS systems out there, Allegheny Creative uses a popular open-source platform called Drupal.
